My life in the pool industry started in 1974 when I started a pool service and repair company. In 1976, a friend asked if I would help him install an in-ground spa in his new home in Palm Desert. Before construction was complete, we had orders for four more spa installations and, thus, Custom Spa Insulation was born. During the next five years, we sold and installed over four hundred spas. I came back to Orange County full time in 1980 and went to work for Anthony Pools as a Designer/Salesman. I was awarded “Salesman of the Year” in my first year. Blue Haven Pools offered me a position in 1986 as a Designer/Salesman. I received several design awards fro projects I designed. The last four years as a General Manager for a national pool company, my primary duty included job breakdowns, cost estimates, wholesale and retail pricing. In 2000, I got my Pool Contractors License (C-53) and my son John got his General Contractors License (B-1). Crystal Pool and Spas was born at that time. Since we have two different licenses that together fulfills the needs and requirements for this business, we can do projects together that other pool companies can not. We expanded the company in 2005 and moved into a new building. Don Voyer came onboard as Designers and we now have a full-service team that works extremely well together. We have the expertise to design and build any size project. |
